Hadwin Hai Jones, known as Hai, is a Yandere Simulator OC created by Perishal.

Appearance

Hai is slightly overweight, and dark skinned. They sport longer, dyed hair that is a mix of neon green and electric blue. They have larger feet and pale hazel eyes, with surprisingly dark lashes. They do not currently wear the standard uniform to school, instead mixing the two. At home, Hai's clothing is very casual and more comfort based.

Personality

Hai is a very boisterous type of person. They're loud, generally cheerful, strong willed, and quite loyal. If you trust Hai with a secret, it will not be leaked, unless under the most extreme of circumstances. Hai tends to listen in a bit more than may be appreciated, and can be nosy. Hai will not abandon a friend in their time of need, despite their own problems. However, it can be trouble to get Hai to listen at times. Hai is quite often excited about even the smallest parts of their day, and it can be hard to get through and actually grab their attention. (Once you have it, however, it is unwavering.)

Story

Hai was born fairly normal. They were delivered via a natural water birth, and pronounced as a boy.

As a young child, Hai picked up words quickly, and would often run around the house, or stand with hands on hips, imitating the adults around him.

By age six, Hai was beginning to hesitate when answering their gender. Instead of instantly saying 'boy' when asked, they would pause a second or two, before answering.

When Hai was eight, they went to their Great Uncle's house to have a large party for Fourth of July. (Seeing as Hai grew up in the United States, in Hawaii.) During a particularly large firework explosion, the Great Uncle's already aggressive Pomeranian was frightened and attacked Hai. Hai had to get stitches for the bites on their shoulders and right side of the face. While most of the scars faded, Hai still has some of the blemishes on their face. The dog was quickly put down.

At age twelve, Hai's parents were called by the school to talk about their refusal to answer any sort of question about their gender. Hai's father was out of town on a business trip, but Hai's mother went, while Hai entertained their seven year old younger sibling. Hai's mother later talked with Hai about it, but they didn't say anything, staying silent.

The big reveal, somewhat anticipated, came on Hai's thirteenth birthday. It had been a fairly large party, with family and friends. Hai decided to announce to all of the guests that they were feeling confused about their gender, and would prefer to be referred to with non-binary terms, such as 'they' and 'them'. A few family members left, and two of his friends, siblings, were taken home from the party by their mother immediately. Hai considered calling those who had left and telling them it was just a practical joke, but they decided not to.

When Hai was halfway to fourteen, their father was told to move to Japan for work, and the rest of the family followed.

Now, Hai has just gone into Akademi High School, and about have their life changed forever by the occurrences caused by Yandere-Chan. Hai met Hadori Kiroma, who was their guide for when they first transferred. Hadori quickly learned that Hai had minimal knowledge of Japanese (phrases such as please and thank you, mostly) and went on a mission to teach Hai Japanese. Hai decided to hang out with her from then on, and the two quickly became close friends. Hadori calls her and Hai 'Gal Pals' since it's shorter than 'Gal and Genderless Pals'.

Family

Their mother is Apikalia Jones, was was born and raised in Hawaii. She runs an online gift shop from their home, and works her own hours. She was extremely accepting about Hai's decision, seeing as it made them happy. She still enjoys watching shows with her child. Her name roughly translates to 'My father's delight'.

Their father is Paul Jones, an American businessman who moved to Hawaii for work, and later moved the family to Japan for work yet again. He's not the most accepting about Hai's gender indecision, but is not straight up cruel to his child, and gave up on trying to get Hai to continue being a male after only one or two attempts.

Hai has one brother named Ethan Jones. He looks very similar to Hai in facial structure, but he is much shorter. Ethan is ten, and Hai can still remember when their younger brother was born. Ethan looks up to Hai as an amazing older sibling, and although he still has problems with pronouns at times, he really tries and is adjusting quickly to calling his older sibling they/them instead of by male pronouns.

⊰ NAME ⊱ Hadwin Hai Jones

⊰ FIRST NAME ⊱ Hadwin

⊰ MIDDLE NAME ⊱ Hai

⊰ SURNAME ⊱ Jones

⊰ NICKNAMES ⊱ Yes, Jo-en-es, Wii, Hai.

⊰ NAME ORIGIN ⊱ In Hawaiian, 'Hadwin Hai' roughly translates to 'Strong friend coming from the sea'. They currently go by 'Hai' since it is gender neutral.

Their nickname, 'Yes', originates from the similar pronunciation to the Japanese word for 'yes'.

'Wii' is from their brother, as a casual shortening of 'Hadwin', combined with their love for the Nintendo gaming company.

'Jo-en-es' is a reference to the character Jones in RoosterTeeth's 'Red vs. Blue' web series. Their family, specifically Hadwin and their mother, love to watch the show, and it became a sort of inner joke in the family to call each other by an incorrect pronunciation of their last name, Jones.

Although Hai has not had a very smooth relationship with their father since they revealed that they were questioning their gender, and their father still calls them Hadwin, Hai's mother and brother call them 'Hai' since it is a gender neutral name.

⊰ BASIC APPEARANCE ⊱ Hai is slightly overweight, and dark skinned. They sport longer, dyed hair that is a mix of neon green and electric blue. They have larger feet and pale hazel eyes, with surprisingly dark lashes. They do not currently wear the standard uniform to school, instead mixing the two. At home, Hai's clothing is very casual and more comfort based.

⊰ EYES ⊱ Hai has pale hazel eyes, with large irises. They have more rounded eyes, and dark lashes that really bring out the lightness of their eyes.

⊰ HAIR ⊱ Hai's hair is down to their mid-back, and dyed intermittently in neon green and electric blue; which makes for a beautiful colour blend when braided. Hai usually has their hair over their left shoulder with a hair band, usually a metallic colour, a little bit from the bottom, controlling all the ends. Some days, Hai likes to braid their hair into an intricate french/fishtail mix, that curves along the left side of their head, and the remaining hair is braided into a bun. Hai very rarely leaves most of their hair down in a waterfall braid. Their hair is very wavy, to the point of slight curls.

⊰ DRESS ⊱ Hai, due to their current situation, wears a mix of the two school uniforms to school. They wear the male uniform pants and shoes, and a long sleeved version of the female uniform shirt, along with the male uniform jacket in case they get cold.

When home, Hai wears casual, comfort based clothing. Their typical lounging outfit usually consists of colourful, mismatched socks, long black sweatpants, and a long sleeved t-shirt.

Hai has trouble with their formal outfits, but usually settles for slacks and slim dress shoes. Along with this, they wear a pastel or white long sleeved blouse, and braid their hair into a waterfall braid.

Their sleep clothing consists of dark socks, leggings, and a nightgown.

When Hai works out, which is actually on a fairly regular basis, they usually wear tennis shoes, basketball shorts, and a tight cropped tank top.

⊰ BUILD ⊱ Hai is thin framed and short, but has put on quite a few pounds from stress and their love for sweet foods. They have a mostly rectangular body shape, which widens out a bit near their hips, in a near pear body shape. This widening of the hips and thighs is accentuated by the extra poundage that Hai has. Their feet are relatively large, and their second toe is longer than the first on both feet. Their fingers are on the longer side, but not that 'long and elegant' look.

Hai's face is chubby, with barely defined, low cheekbones and a rounder jaw shape. Their nose is small and curves downward a little, but has a mostly flat bottom from a side view.

⊰ HEIGHT ⊱ 5'3"

⊰ WEIGHT ⊱ 142.6 pounds/64.7 kilograms

⊰ SPECIES ⊱ Human

⊰ SCARS ⊱ Hai has a small piece of the shell of their ear missing from a careless day in the winter when they got frostbite. They also have a few small tooth marks on their right cheek and jaw from an overly aggressive Pomeranian that used to belong to their great uncle.

⊰ MUTATIONS ⊱ None.

⊰ PHOBIAS ⊱ Hai has apeirophobia, the fear of infinity. They are not afraid of the mention of the concept of infinity itself, but instead of when it is actually reached. Because of this, they refuse to play any sort of endless runner game.

Hai also has claustrophobia, to the point that they have trouble even being in the classrooms with six or seven others.

⊰ DISABILITIES ⊱ None.

⊰ BEST MEMORY ⊱ Although Hai was overjoyed when they found out that their mother was fine with their possible gender transition, Hai's best memory is probably from when their baby brother was born. Ethan is less of a baby now, but to Hai, he will always be their baby brother.

⊰ WORST MEMORY ⊱ Hai's worst memory is definitely when they confessed the possibility of transitioning genders, and realized that their father was not going to be happy about this.

⊰ PERSONALITY ⊱ Hai is a very boisterous type of person. They're loud, generally cheerful, strong willed, and quite loyal. If you trust Hai with a secret, it will not be leaked, unless under the most extreme of circumstances. Hai tends to listen in a bit more than may be appreciated, and can be nosy.
